Dear blog,
Dear blog,
Can you believe it's 2007? Heck, it's already 8 days into 2007. Where does the time go? Does is fall over the waterfall of life and trickle down the tiny little streams of history? Does it really fly when you're having fun? Light and airy and carefree like 4-year-old hair swinging in the breeze? If so, then I'm really having fun, because Time is really flying by me. I'll be 32 soon. Where did 22 go again? Is is possible that kids born in 1985 are seriously in college now? President Bush Sr. is the oldest living president to have been in office since I've been alive? It's a little too heavy to shoulder if I think about it all at once... much like the mortgage, the meals, the business.
My baby girl starts Kindergarden this year. She'll walk into a big ole school house and sit at a big desk. She'll go to the cafeteria for lunch. And, if she's lucky, down the hall to music class. Wow, just last weekend I was waiting for her to get teeth and grow some hair. Learn to sit up and go potty by herself. Now she's taking showers like a big girl.
Through the mirror of my mind, time after time, I see reflections of you and me. Reflections of the way life used to be.
Yet, there, in the distance... I see tomorrow. And, with it, all it's promise. I prayed for these days of success and maturity. I dreamed these dreams and now they've all come true. So before I feel too regretful for the time that is passing me by... let me take a long pause to be thankful for good health, stability, happiness, and prosperity. I think I'll take my Time today, and focus on the plan for tomorrow.
